My name is Ashleigh… and I’m so glad your here!
A little about me…
I’m a wife and mom to three wildly energetic boys.
For years, I tried to figure out how people seemed to do all the things. Full-time work, raising kids, marriage, faith, responsibilities, emotional health, and everyday life all at the same time — while somehow appearing to have it all together.
What I’ve learned is that many people who seem fine on the outside are carrying far more stress and overwhelm than others realize.
Life is messy.
Some days feel steady and meaningful. Other days feel like survival mode — exhaustion, laundry piles, difficult conversations, emotional overload, and trying to care for everyone else while running on empty yourself.
That reality is part of what drew me deeper into mental health and psychology — not just professionally, but personally too.
I hold a Master of Social Work degree and a Doctorate in Psychology, with a background in both research and clinical practice. My doctoral research explored marital satisfaction, relational dynamics, and faith within Christian communities, with a focus on emotional connection, attachment, relational strain, and spirituality within long-term relationships.
Currently, I work in community mental health as a licensed mental health professional serving children and families within the severe emotional disturbance (SED) population. My clinical approach is trauma-informed and integrates CBT- and DBT-informed interventions alongside attachment-focused and nervous system regulation work.
Much of the work I care about centers around helping people better understand the emotional and relational patterns underneath overwhelm, burnout, conflict, shame, and survival-mode living. I’m passionate about helping people feel seen, understood, and equipped with practical tools for healing and healthier connection.
My faith is an important part of how I understand healing, growth, and hope. While I value evidence-based psychology and research, I also believe people are more than diagnoses or coping strategies.
This space is where I share reflections, research, practical tools, encouragement, and conversations about mental health, relationships, faith, emotional overwhelm, and healing.
I’m glad you’re here, friend 🌿
