The journey through life’s challenges and uncertainties can often make us feel isolated and overwhelmed. Knowing that someone understands, empathizes and shares in similar experiences reminds us that your struggles are valid.

My name is Ashleigh… and I’m so glad your here!
A little about me…
I am a graduate student and have been in school way more years than I would like to admit. One of my favorite things to talk about is the ever elusive work-life-family balance. Whatever you want to call it. I am now a pro, or at least like to think I am until God humbles me with with new challenges
I can say this with some confidence because along this journey, I have been a homeschooling mom of 3 wildly energetic boys. My friends and colleagues often comment on this asking, “how you do it?”
And the secret is that I don’t always do it well. Some of the time… okay, MOST of the time… it is really, really messy. All I can do is trust the Lord’s guidance, take it one day at a time and share what I’ve learned along the way.
Professionally, my primary area of work has centered in the realm of the human-animal bond interact. I have a Master in Social Work and have had the privilege of engaging in Equine Assisted Psychotherapy, which has offered insights into the therapeutic process. I also hold a Masters of Science in Psychology where I developed the Human Equine Attachment Questionnaire, a pioneering tool designed to quantitatively measure the nuances of the human-equine bond.
Currently, I am working on my PhD and have shifted focus to researching the impact of faith-integrated mental health interventions conducted by lay counselors. My hope is to contribute meaningfully to a holistic understanding of mental health, encompassing both the empirical rigor of psychology and the profound, often personal, dimensions of faith and spirituality.
Please join me in this exploration of life, learning, and the endless quest for balance. It’s a journey of discovery, growth, and, most importantly, shared human experience and faith.
